In honor of this new progression in our relationship, I thought I'd share with you five things that you might not know about me.
- When Paul and I first started dating, "our song" was Closer (NIN).
- I used to work in a liquor store. I was in charge of stocking the girlie mags (and everything else).
- Women warned me about Paul when we were getting together, telling me that, er, his motives were impure.
- I was on the drill team in ninth grade. Yeah, half-time shows with pom pons.
- I was on the homecoming court one year, and was a "Jr. Princess" at another dance another year.
In my defense:
- We didn't really analyze all the lyrics.
- It was the only job I could find one summer. I got in trouble more than once for organizing the porno mags in alphabetical and date order, rather than having the newest, hottest titles front and center.
- That was mostly sour grapes.
- We did a really cool James Brown number. I could say that I loved to dance, but it's also true that I loved wearing that skirt to school. No use denying it. I had to give up drill team sophomore year when it conflicted with Jazz Band.
- Yeah, and then my parents moved us at the end of my sophomore year. No bitterness here.

Hah! This is funny but knowing you and Paul makes it even funnier (I've always loved the story about you alphabetizing the porn magazines)!
Fabulous! I cannot believe you tried to organize the porn. LOL!
I did half-time shows with a baton or flag. I liked the outfits, too.
Even worse the the alphabetizing (which put the all-important P's in the lower lefthand corner, almost invisible to customers on the other side of the counter) was my habit of putting the older magazines in front. After all, if it's right for dairy products and beer, surely it's right for magazine stock too, right?
I loved reading this.....too funny about the magazines...I would have done the same thing!
I'm glad I'm not alone!
Well, I think my wife's trouser sox are sexy too. Mebbe I'm just weird.
