As we near our first ever homemade-gifts-only holiday season, I have a question.
Do you have any idea where I might procure several large tree stumps?
My only idea is to call local tree service companies and ask if I can follow them around for a day. I'd rather not do that.

Craigslist!
Richmond Heights has its own tree service, and at the public works building has help-yourself mulch for residents. Next to the mulch are a whole bunch of tree trunks of varying sizes. If you would like to come over and take a look, I could accompany you to make it official and all.
Good ideas, both. Flatflo, we might take you up on your kind offer!
Thank you!!
Plus, I still owe you a "craft" piece I've been hanging onto . . . and I would still love a little swatch of your dress fabric if you still have an extra piece.
I had two but with nothing to do with them, my FIL hauled them off. Not that they would have been much help to you so far away.
No idea. I'm stumped.
Bingol: irresistible, wasn't it? (Still shaking my head.)
CCW, you missed out on the opportunity to make some fabulous coffee tables for friends and relatives. ;-)
Sarahlynn,
You interested in meeting up for coffee one of these days? We can exchange dress fabric for craft project and generally enjoy getting out of the house!
Sounds great. :) I think I have a little free time Saturday afternoon . . .
