Life, the universe, and motherhood according to me. I'm a feminist, a liberal, a Presbyterian, and mom to three amazing young children, one with Down syndrome. All that is reflected here, along with whatever I might be feeling at the moment (quite often, it will be exhaustion).

Way too cute! I saw the other pics of the playground with Abby at my side. She's jealous!
SL (you don't mind if I shorten your name, right? since I'm in *the club* and all - we're BFFs, right??) LOL!
Anyway - wanted to know your thoughts on this: http://www.see-and-learn.org/
I'm considering getting the First Word Pictures "kit". Yes, I know I could make it myself...but let's be real. So, wondered if you thought it seemed worth it?!
Awww....
Best of all, nobody nobody nobody is wearing diapers in those pictures!!!
Rob, Ellie and Ada are looking forward to seeing cousin Abby again this summer! Do you have big birthday plans?
Megan, SL is just fine with me. I'm not familiar with See-and-Learn, but I say: GO FOR IT! It seems to be part of or related to DownsEd.org, which is fabulous, groundbreaking educational research for teaching children with Down syndrome. My Ellie is in a related pilot learning program here in the States and we're loving it! Our group is based on the Orange County group (http://www.dsfoc.org/learning_program.htm) which in turn developed from Sue Buckley's UK research (http://www.downsed.org/).
Barrie, I know! Too cute, right? You should have seen them hugging and comforting each other in time-out the other day. They carefully negotiated a way to do it without lifting their bottoms from their time out seats, so as not to get into more trouble. I was a few steps away, around a corning and out of site, wriggling with pleasure like a puppy.
